This program is open to anyone with an interest in Kashmir's wildlife — from casual nature observers to trained field researchers. You don't need formal qualifications, but accuracy and honesty in reporting are essential.

Species Observation Protocol

1. 1.Record the exact date, time, and GPS location of your observation
2. 2.Estimate or count the number of individuals observed
3. 3.Note the species name (use field guides or apps if unsure)
4. 4.Describe the habitat (forest type, elevation, water source)
5. 5.Record behavior (feeding, resting, breeding, migrating)
6. 6.Take clear photos as evidence when possible
7. 7.Submit your observation through the Submit a Sighting flow

Evidence Standards

• ✓Clear photo or observable evidence of the species
• ✓Accurate GPS coordinates (use phone GPS or mapping tool)
• ✓Date and time of observation
• ✓Count estimate or exact number if possible
• ✓Habitat description (forest type, elevation, weather)
• ✓Behavior notes (feeding, nesting, migrating, etc.)

Field Safety Guidance

• ⚠Always inform someone of your field location and expected return time
• ⚠Carry a charged phone, water, and first-aid kit
• ⚠Avoid approaching dangerous or territorial wildlife
• ⚠Respect protected areas and entry restrictions
• ⚠Do not disturb nests, dens, or breeding sites
• ⚠Work in pairs when possible, especially in remote areas
